Abstract

Nowadays for many men the perception of a healthy body is noticeable by the idea of having a muscular body. In order to maintain a posture of "body healed" these individuals are using anabolic steroids, believing it to be a shortest path to get the body you want, however these substances has been producing a series of grievances to their health How to: arrhythmia, testicular atrophy, Gynecomastia, impotence among others. Thus, this study aims to: analyze the perception of healthy body to men who practice bodybuilding and major health problems caused in humans by the use of anabolic steroids. To do so, was used the bibliographic search qualitative exploratory, with descriptive analysis. The results showed that the idea of health for men adept is anchored in social construction bodybuilding of the genre, and the way to deal with the body and with masculinity is causing them to reach the standards of health and disease.
