Objective: To discuss the influence of gender in the construction of sexuality in adolescence. Method: a survey of articles in the Virtual Health Library database was performed using as descriptors sexuality, adolescent and gender identity. Five articles that met the inclusion criteria and had relevance to the theme were selected. Result: The construction of sexuality is procedural, being influenced from birth. In this construction adolescence tends to be influenced by school, family, collective and social environments and their links. Perceptions of adolescents reflect the standards and norms set in the historic building of society. Conclusion: Therefore, it is important that at this stage of vulnerabilities discovered and biological and psychological changes that gender issues are discussed, since this is a constituent part of sexuality and it is necessary that this to be built without prejudice.Downloads
