PROFILE OF CHRONIC KIDNEY PATIENTS AT A PUBLIC HOSPITAL OF BAHIA

Objective: To analyze the profile of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis unit. Method: A documental and quantitative cross, made from the analysis of 154 records. Results: It was observed that 63.22% of patients are older than 50 years, these, 35.48% are male. As at the date of admission, 80% have less than one year admission. With respect to socioeconomic and demographic variables, 26.45% have a monthly income of up to minimum wage and 71.42% are coming from Salvador. With respect to the base disease, hypertensive nephrosclerosis had higher representation, corresponding to 36.13%. As for the associated diseases, hypertension was the most important, accounting for 25.97%. Regarding the type of access, the catheter Sorensen had a higher incidence in patients newly admitted. Conclusion: The research allowed the greatest knowledge of the profile of CKD within the state, highlighting the need for greater attention on the prevention and control of hypertension and diabetes to minimize the progression as well as the appearance of new cases of CKD.
