ANALYSIS OF NUMBERS NOTIFIED CASES OF LEPROSY BY SINAM IN BAHIA

Leprosy is an infectious disease caused by the bacillus Mycobacterium leprae, which causes many signs and symptoms. In general, it takes 2-5 years to arisings of the first signs and symptoms and may reach men and women, adults and children of all social classes, settling mainly in the nerves and skin. This study has the general objective to analyze the numbers of notified cases of leprosy by the Information System of Notification Grievances (ISNG) in Bahia, during the period from 2010 to 2014, and as specific objectives, to know the notified cases by DATASUS, in the period from January 01th, 2010 to August 19th, 2014, and verify the amount of notified cases in relation to gender. This research comes up of epidemiological descriptive methods with research literature showing an analysis of quantitative character of the content searched. The data were obtained through consultation in ISNG, provided by DATASUS belonging to the Ministry of Health. The interpreted results are 2.870 cases in 2012, 2.534 for 2013 and 1.344 cases notified for the year 2014, so, it aims the necessity for attention of health teams to achieve the goal of the Ministry of health in order to eradicate the cases. The pursuit of these cases allowed knowing characteristics about disease infection in baiano’s profile.
