Clinical Economics emerged from the field of medical oncology where the need of balancing harm and benefit is most obvious. It is explained that the principle of complete economic analyses in health care include both non-monetary (values) and monetary dimensions (budgets). Including the perspectives of individual patients, of doctors and of managers are equally important when decisions have to be made. Clinical Economics offers solutions to five major challenges of health care assessment and provision.Downloads
