Analyze of cases notified of tuberculosis in children and adolescents

OBJECTIVE: to analyze the reported cases of tuberculosis in children and adolescents in the State of Acre in the year 2017. METHOD: cross-sectional study, exploratory, quantitative approach, with information on the secondary database. The study population was composed of cases of tuberculosis among children and adolescents in the State of Acre-Brazil, recorded in the year 2017 in the Department of Informatics of the SUS-DATASUS. RESULTS: 59 cases of tuberculosis were reported among children and teenagers in Acre in the year 2017, these 38 (65%) occurred in the municipality of Rio Branco. There was a predominance of cases in DSN 36 (61%) male the age group most affected was the 15 19 41 years (70%), the most prevalent clinical form was pulmonary tuberculosis (50) 85%. As for the situation of closure of cases in information system (38) 64% were closed for healing. CONCLUSION: the diagnosis of tuberculosis in children and adolescents is a reality in the State of Acre and becomes of extreme importance the adoption of professional practices including the diagnosis and early treatment aimed at this age group aiming at the prevention and control of the disease.
