Objective: this study aimed to characterize the scientific literature on the influence of drugs on the formation of pressure ulcers (PUs). Method: an integrative review was performed, with a qualitative approach, using content available on SciELO, BDENF and LILACS. The following keywords were used: nursing, pharmaceuticals, pressure ulcers, adverse effects, critical care. Articles related to the topic “influence of drugs on the pressure ulcer formation” and complete works published over the last 10 years were included. Results: through the analysis of nine articles it has been found that the use of bronchodilators, anti-dementia, and anxiolytic antibiotics were the most frequent drugs among individuals with PUs. Conclusion: it is very important to report the negative influence of drugs on this complex pathophysiological process for the emergence of PUs, so that nurses can broaden their knowledge on the pharmacology of substances that could be related to the development of pressure ulcers.Downloads
