PHYSICAL THERAPY AND COMPLEMENTARY AND INTEGRATIVE PRATICES IN FAMILY'S HEALTH SUPPORT NUCLEUS

Introduction: The Primary Health Care expands the supply of services so that, from the actual needs of the population, there are new ways of caring. The Complementary and Integrative Practices in Health, for example, are strongly focused on this field, since propose another scenario for Health. Objective: In this perspective, this study aimed to evaluate the implementation of Complementary and Integrative Practices in Health by physiotherapists acting in Family’s Health Support Nucleus, identifying which practices are facilitated. Materials and Methods: It is a quantitative study of the transversal type, held in Salvador, Bahia. Results:As a result, it was observed that 33.3% of the 18 physical therapists who participated in the survey had some training in the field of Integrative Practices, 94.4% recommend or could recommend these practices and 77.8% rated them as resolving to the demands commonly found. By analyzing the distribution of Integrative Practices in the supply grid of 11 Family’s Health Support Nucleus of city in question, Yoga appears as the most offered (40.0%) and Acupuncture, Homeopathy and Chigong are distributed in equal percentages of 20.0%. Other types, though recognized, were not offered services. Conclusion: Finally, the study identified potential and limitations for the application of Integrative Practices in the context of Primary Health Care, low indicators of development of ICPs were found near the NASF, with Acupuncture, Homeopathy and corporal practices such as Yoga and Chi Gong being the most offered indicating the need to encourage joint participation of service users, professionals and managers in the production of new health practices.Downloads
