EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE LEVEL OF MOTHERS OF CHILDREN HOSPITALIZED IN RELATION THE PHYSIOTHERAPY PRACTICES

Health care of children in recent years has been changing and becoming constant practice and utmost attention by the professional health care. Thus, the therapist must support both children and parents, as well as guidance to parents so that they can help in the treatment. The aim of this study was to describe the knowledge of mothers of children admitted to a public hospital in relation to the activities developed by the physiotherapy service which their children are submitted and verify, through a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, the interaction between parents / therapists in the treatment of hospitalized children. A sample of 25 individuals selected by convenience sampling method, the latter being parents of hospitalized children undergoing physiotherapy practices. The instrument used for the research was a questionnaire selfexplanatory and the data analysis was done in three steps: Pre-analysis, material exploration and interpretation of the testimonies by inference and categorization of similar content. It is concluded that mothers of hospitalized children knew about physical therapy employed in their children, stressing the importance of this treatment and good interactions in triad physiotherapist-patient-parent.Downloads
