Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: The stroke can result in balance deficit disorders. The rehabilitation becomes indispensable for balance rehabilitation, and the virtual reality is one of the tools that can be used. Aim: systematize the knowledge on the virtual reality effect over the balance in patients after stroke. Method: a literature review was realized in the period April-May 2014, including original articles published from January 2004 to may 2014. Results: 24 articles were found, six remained for they met the inclusion criteria, four randomized clinical trials, a single-arm clinical trial, and a case report. Conclusion: it was seen that virtual reality can be a supporting tool to rehabilitate balance in these patients, for the purpose of training task-oriented and motivational nature.
