Abstract

The Chronic sinusitis caused by foreign body can be caused by the presence of teeth, tooth roots or dental materials, causing an inflammatory process and a sinus infection. The diagnosis is easily obtained through the clinical and imaginologic findings, but many health professionals do not elucidate it early. This study aims to describe the clinical case of a patient with chronic sinusitis, with no improvements with drug treatment, but after radiographic evaluation, it was possible to identify metal structure in the maxillary sinus and it was suggested the diagnosis of chronic sinusitis caused by foreign body. It was established drug treatment and surgical removal associated with sinus surgery.
