Abstract

Internationally recognized and in a clear statement on the national scene, instructional design is already a reality in some education and training institutions, as well as in training companies in Portugal. This study aims to To analyze the theories and models of Instructional Design. The present theoretical essay was developed based on reflections and articulations between the elements and contents approached by different contemporary theoretical bases. We approach some of the most significant theories and models of instructional design, aiming to make it a reference point for future studies and research in this particularly recurrent area of distance education. Effectively, teaching-learning processes in online education and training environments can not be dissociated from the different forms of didactic planning proposed by this new model of instructional design.
