Sexual function in women in the climacteric: cross-sectional study

INTRODUCTION: The climacteric is a phase of the woman's life cycle, representing a transition between the reproductive and non reproductive periods. OBJECTIVE: Evaluate sexual function in women through the Sexual Quotient Questionnaire – Female Version (QS-F). METHODS: Cross-sectional study with a group of 66 climacteric women who underwent sexual function assessment using the Sexual Quotient Questionnaire - Female Version (QS-F) and through the total QS-F score, the sexual performance / satisfaction pattern was defined. RESULTS: The standard of sexual performance / satisfaction most prevalente were from good to normal (37.9%), whereas the standard unfavorable and null, bothhad a sample of 4.5% and 52,9 of the participating women stated that they often think of sex "sometimes" or "never." CONCLUSION: The majorty of the women interviewed had a standard of sexual performance / satisfaction between regular and good, without any significant alteration of function.Downloads
