This study aims to draw some perspectives on the future of Brazilian psychology. Therefore, we present a historical and political analysis of the emergence of psychology in Brazil, the profile and performance of the psychologist and the training in psychology in our country. From these analyzes, it becomes clear the inseparability of education, science and profession, the influence of the profession project in the construction of psychology and the need for positioning the category to take their future.
