Introdution: Studies suggest a possible link between Parkinson’s disease and observed changes in gait and posture of its patients, refering that the absence of dopanimina affects motor control which leads to movement disorders. Objective: To evaluate changes in posture and gait of individuals affected with Parkinson’s disease, through specific tools os static posture and gait kinematics. Methods: 16 individuals affected by the disease and 16 healthy individuals, aged between 55 and 74 years old with height and weight matched were evaluated in a model of cross sectional study. The posture in the sagittal plane was classified into eight groups and the gait estimated at five of its parameters by observers blinded clinical. Results: Among subjects with Parkinson’s significant changes were observed for the thoracic kyphosis and anterior tranlation of the head. There was also a correlation between clinical straight thoracic and flexum knee. In the analysis of association was found that four varibles of the gait had lower averages in the group with Parkinson’s disease. The most important was the amplitude of the step, followed by the cadence and stride length. The only variable that showed an average lower in the control group was the step width. Conclusion: Parkinson’s disease affects the gait hability and postural balance, but the step width thst should be greater in the test group as a strategy to offset the balance and gait was lower than in the control group.
